I absolutely love the Boundary Waters; I’ve been going up there since I was a kid. My family still goes every summer. I painted the view from our favorite site on Sawbill Lake, of an island. Wild blueberries grow on the island, thus this painting's namesake, Blueberry Island. The best memories of my life are spent at the Boundary Waters; exploring, canoeing, swimming, eating wild blueberries, playing, and dancing.
