What Lies

2016

Original graphite and colored pencil drawing.

This piece was one of the first created of a series which follows a theme of human mortality and the relentless passage of time. The series comprised half of my portfolio for my AP Studio Art Class. My art teacher at Roseville Area High School, Lauren Corcoran, encouraged my creativity and helped grow my sense of composition. Characters in the pieces are from the TV Show The Walking Dead, which takes place in an Apocolyptic scene where death creeps the periphery of each character. The work was exhibited at (2017) Les Farrington’s Best 100 Juried Art Exhibition and (2017) Selection Visual Arts Festival. As a series, it was a Senior Portfolio Merit Award Winner and recieved Superior ratings at Selection Visual Arts Festival.
